Life has been hectic over the past 30 days or so. There have been a lot of things going on and there are things that will happen. I can’t discuss much of it though due to a NDA. What I can say is this: The future is always uncertain but I can see a brighter one now than I could a month ago. Thanks to everybody that has been hearing me out and offering support where they could. I hope I can do the same for others going through this.
I still need to get Part IV of the trilogy posted.
I’ve read the first four books of the Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy (again) and I’m currently reading The Godfather for the first time. I’ve never seen the film adaptation so it’s a great sense of discovery for me. I have The Scilian lined up to read when I’m done.
I did play Mafia II. I enjoyed the game but feel it’s over priced for the length of gameplay. If you decide to play it keep in mind that it is not family friendly at all.
Ever had one of those weeks where everything went wrong? I’m having one of those weeks. Slowly becoming one of those months.
…you wake up in pain. Either I’ve stretched/pulled a muscle in my back or I have a kidney stone coming through. The pain is about the same either way and in the same location. I’ll know which if they pain moves during the morning.
Last year when we added a new cat to our family we realized that we would need an extra water and food dispenser. Something I noticed over time is that the water dispenser on the left and the food dispenser on the left both ran out well before the ones on the right. Our setup is as follows: water dispenser, water dispenser, food dispenser, food dispenser.
At first I thought the cats were using the water and food dispenser on the left because they were newer and may have smelled better. We made to sure clean all four items very well and see what would happen. The items on the left ran out first again.
To make sure it wasn’t my imagination I swapped the food dispeners. This way the older one was on the left and the newer on the right. Something to know, the older food dispenser holds more food because it’s bigger. Guess what. The food dispenser on the left (older and larger) ran out of food first! See the not so good photo I snapped with my cell phone below.
Something else to note. The youngest cat likes to play with one of the water dispensers. Can you guess which one he plays with? Whichever one is on the left!
Is this a unique situation to our cats? Is this something built in to cat nature? Time for more research.

My wife’s step father died this afternoon.
Today, with help from my wife, I made my first loaf of beer bread. I used Killian’s Irish Red for the all important beer part of the mix. I let the mix cook for 45 minutes, pulled it out of the oven for a butter basting and then let it cook for another 5 minutes. Not only does it look great it tastes great!

Tonight my wife and I watched Derren Brown: Something Wicked This Way Comes.
England gets Derren Brown while the US gets Criss Angel? It’s not fair I tell you. It’s not fair.
Happy Valentine’s Day everybody!
Today is also the day we consider to be the birthday for our cat Rajar. We don’t know exactly what day he was born on because we found him as a kitten in a Wal-Mart parking lot. Based on when he began to spray we estimated how old he was. We put his birthday in mid Feburary. So based on that we have decided to call his birthday Feb 14th.
Happy Birthday Raj!
