SQL Server Express 2008 will run on Windows 7. Just remember to install SQL Server 2008 SP1 before you launch it.

If you are running Windows XP be sure to back up any files you want to keep if you go to Windows 7 when it comes out. Why? Because you can’t upgrade XP to 7. If you are running Wndows Vista you can upgrade to 7. You rock!
